Anushka made her debut as an actor in 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Anushka Sharma took her time to prepare and did not do the test impromptu. Then she was offered three movies by Yash Raj Films. The role she played was that of a younger wedding bride to a middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the movie. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was in 2010's 'Badmash Company" together with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. It received mixed reviews. Anushka was also seen alongside Ranveer in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat,' where she portrayed an Punjabi middle class girl who launched her own venture. The film was an unexpected success and was praised by the critics. Anushka completed her three-film deal in partnership with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
